Stella Christie教授出生于印度尼西亚，2004年以优异成绩最高荣誉（magna cum laude）获得美国哈佛大学心理学、心智脑行为与认知科学学士学位，2010年在美国西北大学获得认知心理学博士学位，随后在英属哥伦比亚大学作为博士后继续科学研究。2012年加入美国顶尖文理学院斯沃斯莫尔学院任教，于2018年被聘任为终身副教授。2018年， Stella Christie受聘清华大学心理学系长聘副教授，创建和领导清华大学心理系儿童认知研究中心，同时也担任清华大学脑与智能实验室的首席研究员。2022年，Stella Christie受聘为清华大学心理学系长聘教授。

Stella Christie教授是一位认知科学家， 尤其关注认知发展与学习过程，研究兴趣：类比与关系性学习、人工智能中的关系抽象、认知计算建模（例如注意力机制、探索与利用）、语言类型学及其对认知的影响、社会与文化学习中的比较过程、比较认知——类人猿、绒顶狨猴。她的数篇研究发表于高影响力学术期刊。Stella Christie 博士被认知科学界顶级奖项“ James McDonnell Understanding Human Cognition奖”提名， 该奖项是领域内最负盛名的荣誉之一。

为什么人类比其他动物聪明？我的假设是人类可从事物的表象发现背后的逻辑关系和规律。小到理解一个简单的词汇如“妈妈”，大到数学运算和看地图，这些都基于对关系的了解和思考。我的研究目标为深入探索关系思维，具体分为以下三个方面：

（1）初始阶段：人类和其他动物掌握了哪些关系？

（2）方法和工具：如何通过学习方法和工具提高思考关系的能力？

（3）应用：社会关系。我们如何理解和处理复杂的社会关系？

通过对儿童和类人猿的研究，我们实验室发现了人类和其他动物在关系认知方面的相似和差异之处。最终，我希望在初始阶段，通过使用学习方法和工具—语言和对比，来提升人们的思维能力。
