Establishment of the Department of Educational Psychology, one of the earliest 17 departments.

The Department of Educational Psychology was renamed the Department of Psychology.

Establishment of the Institute of Psychology (later renamed Research Division), beginning graduate student enrollment.

During departmental reorganization, the Department of Psychology became one of the six major departments in Tsinghua University's College of Science.

During the Southwest Associated University period, Tsinghua's Department of Psychology merged into the Department of Philosophy and Psychology of the College of Liberal Arts, reorganized as the Psychology Division, while remaining under the leadership of Tsinghua's College of Science.

1952: Following institutional restructuring, the Department of Psychology merged into Peking University along with the College of Science.

Tsinghua University established the Research Office for Science and Engineering Education (later renamed Institute of Educational Research), with an Applied Psychology Research Laboratory.

Tsinghua University established one of the earliest student psychological counseling centers among Chinese universities.

The Institute of Educational Research established the Psychology Research Laboratory.

The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Tsinghua University approved the establishment of the Research Center for Psychology and Cognitive Science.

The Department of Psychology at Tsinghua University was reestablished under the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (transferred to the School of Social Sciences in 2012), resuming undergraduate psychology enrollment.

The Department of Psychological and Cognitive Sciences at Tsinghua University was established.
