The Department of Psychological and Cognitive Sciences at Tsinghua University is rooted in the profound humanistic heritage of century-old Tsinghua. Since the establishment of the department in 1926, Tsinghua's psychology discipline has been consistently committed to cultivating high-level talents with global vision, innovative capabilities, and devotion to the country and family. The Department of Psychological and Cognitive Sciences, established in April 2024, takes the two major directions of "Cognition and Intelligence" and "Social and Health" as its guidance, adheres to the "top-down and bottom-up" research approach, and opens a new stage of development. The Cognition and Intelligence direction focuses on the cutting edge of technological development, conducts interdisciplinary and integrated research in cognitive science, brain science, and computational science, and explores the essence of intelligence; the Social and Health direction emphasizes "valuing practice and fieldwork," combines psychological research with the background of Chinese traditional culture, and applies new technologies and methods to solve practical problems.
