Introduction to Tsinghua University Positive Psychology Research Center

At the beginning of the 21st century, the positive psychology movement emerged and rapidly developed globally, bringing new vitality and perspectives to psychology. Positive psychology emphasizes using scientific principles and methods to study happiness, focusing on human positive psychological qualities, health, well-being, and harmonious development. In this context, Tsinghua University Positive Psychology Research Center (hereinafter referred to as "the Center") was established in 2014. Enhance the mental health level and happiness of the entire population, cultivate a healthier, more positive, and more responsible new generation of young people.

Since its establishment, the Center has relied on Tsinghua University's strong academic strength and interdisciplinary research advantages, committed to becoming an academic platform for positive psychology research and practice in our country. The Center's main research focuses on using scientific methods to provide systematic and comprehensive theoretical and application suggestions for human happiness, and exploring the promotion of positive psychology applications in various fields, allowing more people to benefit from positive psychology concepts and methods.

Institutional History:

August 2014, Tsinghua University School of Social Sciences Positive Psychology Research Center was established.

July 2015, hosted the Third China International Positive Psychology Conference.

January 2016, launched the first Tsinghua University Positive Psychology Instructor Training.

March 2016, carried out the nation's first positive education project at Tsinghua Affiliated Primary School.

May 2017, cooperated with University of Pennsylvania to introduce positive psychology MOOC courses.

July 2019, hosted the First National Positive Education Conference.

February 2020, carried out anti-epidemic series public welfare activities.

July 2023, hosted the Sixth China International Positive Psychology Conference.

March 2025, transferred to research institution under Tsinghua University Department of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences.
