Research Direction

Our research explores the intersection of machine learning and neuroscience, focusing on continual learning and lifelong adaptability in intelligent systems. We aim to develop general computational models applicable to both artificial intelligence (AI) and biological intelligence (BI), with applications spanning AI4Science, AI4Health, AIGC, and Embodied AI.

Brain4AI: We investigate fundamental learning, adaptation, and evolution paradigms in BI, integrating the strengths of biological learning and memory systems to enable AI with flexible decision-making, efficient updating, real-time response, and adaptive behavior in dynamic environments.

Efficient AI: We address the demands of large-scale foundation models by creating efficient continual pre-training, fine-tuning, and scaling paradigms, enhancing transferability and adaptability in resource-constrained, multi-task, multi-modal, and multi-stage settings.

AI4Brain: We develop continual learning models bridging AI and BI, uncovering new mechanisms from biological learning and memory to inspire AI. We also combine transfer learning and physiological signal generation to support research in psychological and cognitive sciences.

AI4Health: We tackle key challenges in psychological and physiological health by integrating multi-modal learning, continual learning, generative models, and temporal analysis, building generalizable, transferable, and interpretable systems for health monitoring and diagnostic support.
