I. Foreword
In April 2024, Tsinghua University established the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences, with the disciplinary construction positioning "psychology as foundation, promoting integration of liberal arts and sciences; cognition as characteristic, strengthening combination of science and engineering," focusing on building two major directions: "Social and Health Psychology" and "Cognitive and Intelligent Psychology."
"Social and Health Psychology" focuses on human social attributes, with positive psychology as the core, serving society and major national urgent needs, building society's positive mindset and enhancing national happiness. Through integration of liberal arts and sciences, it creates mental health theoretical systems with Chinese cultural characteristics and ideological contributions, develops intelligent psychological disorder diagnosis and intervention programs based on brain-cognitive technology, disseminates new concepts of mental health, and promotes Tsinghua solutions.
"Cognitive and Intelligent Psychology" focuses on human natural attributes, integrating cognitive science, brain science, and artificial intelligence, exploring the essence of intelligence around the interdisciplinary field of "cognitive neural intelligence science." Through combination of science and engineering, it answers basic psychological questions such as the origin of consciousness and the essence of intelligence, provides theoretical guidance for applied directions, creates cognitive neural intelligence science, and forms an influential Tsinghua school in the fields of psychology, brain science, and cognitive science.
II. Salon Introduction
The Department of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences at Tsinghua University will hold a Psychology and Cognitive Sciences Frontier Student Salon on July 8-9, 2025. We sincerely invite students who are passionate about psychology and cognitive science research to actively participate and jointly explore new developments and future trends in the discipline. This salon will provide an open platform for participants, promoting knowledge exchange and collision of ideas, jointly advancing progress and innovation in the field of psychology and cognitive sciences.
III. Application Eligibility
Outstanding undergraduate or master's students from domestic and international universities who aspire to engage in cutting-edge academic research in psychology and cognitive sciences.
IV. Application Materials
1. Personal resume: personal education and work experience, academic research situation, honors received, representative academic achievements, etc.
2. Transcript: needs to be stamped with the school's official seal (or network download version containing electronic seal).
3. Other supporting materials (optional): related materials that can prove one's academic or practical achievements, such as award certificates, first page copies of published papers, etc.

V. Registration Method and Notes
1. Application time
From now until 17:00 on June 18, 2025.
2. Material requirements
Application materials should be compiled into one PDF format file, with the file named after the applicant's name. Electronic version of application materials should be sent to email: fzzx@tsinghua.edu.cn.
Applicants must guarantee the authenticity of all application materials. Submitted materials will not be returned.
3. Review and selection
Student salon applicant material review is organized by experts from the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences, and email invitations will be sent to students selected for salon exchange by June 29.
4. Other instructions
Students participating in the salon are responsible for their own transportation, food, and accommodation.
