On the afternoon of April 26, the Tsinghua University 114th Anniversary Department of Psychology Alumni Exchange Meeting and Academic Sharing Session was successfully held in the 11th floor public space of Lv Dalong Building. More than 50 alumni and faculty-students participated, including Ying Li, Party Secretary of the Department of Psychology, Jia Liu, Department Director, Kaiping Peng, former Director of the Department of Psychology in the School of Social Sciences, Fumin Fan, former Associate Director, and Shuang Hou, Director Assistant of the Department of Psychology. The activity was presided over by Zhen Wu, Associate Director of the Department of Psychology.

In her opening remarks, Ying Li reviewed the development history of Tsinghua's psychology discipline, introduced the achievements made by the Department of Psychology within one year of its establishment in teaching, scientific research, talent introduction, student cultivation and other aspects, and looked forward to future development directions.

Shuang Hou introduced the alumni donation situation, and Jia Liu presented commemorative certificates to donors. Donor representative Zijun Ni expressed gratitude for the cultivation by the Department of Psychology in her speech and stated that she will continue to support the construction of the alma mater and the Department of Psychology.

Alumni representative Xingyu Li, a Class of 1 anniversary year alumnus, shared interesting and unforgettable experiences during his studies in the Department of Psychology, which resonated strongly with teachers and alumni present.

In the academic sharing session, Jia Liu introduced the paradigm transformation of psychology in the era of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI): Psy^AI (Psychology power AI), pointing out that psychology and AGI are twins, in a mutually promoting and co-evolving relationship. Through exploring AGI's cognitive mechanisms and psychological world, psychology expands from a science about humans to a science about intelligent agents; through exploring cross-implementation layer (silicon-based v.s. carbon-based) cognitive and intelligent mechanisms, psychology will construct theories of everything about emotion, consciousness, and intelligence; through the interdisciplinary new undergraduate major of "Psychology, Brain and Cognitive Science," psychology will usher in the third generation of interdisciplinary innovative talents.

At the end of the meeting, under the witness of alumni and guests, a launch ceremony for the Department of Psychology's new location was held on site. As members of the founding leadership team for the reconstruction of Tsinghua's Department of Psychology, Fumin Fan and Kaiping Peng fondly recalled the difficult years at the beginning of reconstruction and expressed joy at seeing the brand-new appearance and vigorous development momentum of the Department of Psychology. They stated that the inauguration of the Department of Psychology's new location is not only an expansion of physical space, but more importantly a significant milestone for the Department of Psychology embarking on a new journey. They hope the Department of Psychology can continue to innovate and make greater contributions to promoting the development of psychology, artificial intelligence, and brain science in our country. Jia Liu stated that the Department of Psychology will continue to uphold the philosophy of openness, inclusiveness, and innovation, strengthen connections and cooperation with alumni and all sectors of society, jointly explore new fields and directions in psychology discipline, and once again thanked the Venustech Psychology and Cognitive Science Development Fund for its support.

The activity concluded successfully amid warm applause, with alumni expressing that this event made them feel the warmth and care of their alma mater and filled them with confidence and expectations for the development of the psychology discipline.
