Our department implements an "application-review" system for 2026 doctoral student enrollment. Applicants who meet the application conditions in the "Tsinghua University 2026 Doctoral Student Enrollment Guide" and its related implementation rules submit relevant materials. The differential comprehensive assessment candidate list is determined based on comprehensive evaluation results of applicants' materials, and recommended candidates for admission are selected through comprehensive assessment. Our department can accept applications from regular doctoral students, master-doctoral combined program students, and direct doctoral students, where special programs such as the ethnic minority backbone program adopt the same method simultaneously. This discipline awards a science degree.
I. Applicant Application
(I) Undergraduate graduates recommended for exemption from entrance examination to pursue doctoral degrees
Meet the relevant regulations of Tsinghua University's 2026 acceptance of outstanding undergraduate graduates exempted from entrance examination to pursue graduate studies. Applicants must submit the following materials within the Tsinghua University Graduate Application Service System (https://yzbm.tsinghua.edu.cn) from 12:00 on July 1, 2025 to 12:00 on July 28, 2025. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Apply according to the requirements of "Enrollment Methods for Master-Doctoral Combined Program for Current Master's Students." Applicants must submit the following materials within our university's Graduate Application Service System (https://yzbm.tsinghua.edu.cn) from 12:00 on July 1, 2025 to 12:00 on July 28, 2025. 2. Application time
Our department conducts enrollment during application period 1. Please log into the Tsinghua University Graduate Application Service System (https://yzbm.tsinghua.edu.cn) and complete online registration procedures according to relevant requirements. If our department completes the planned enrollment during application period 1, application period 2 will no longer accept registrations. If the enrollment plan is not completed during application period 1, enrollment registration applications will open during application period 2. Specific information can be found in notices and announcements published on our university's graduate enrollment website.

Note 1: Applicants invite two experts with associate professor or above professional titles related to the applied discipline to fill out recommendation letters online. Recommendation experts fill out and upload expert recommendation letters according to application service system requirements within the specified time. Please ask experts to properly preserve original recommendation letters for subsequent notification to mail paper versions to our department's graduate teaching office, or after completing online recommendation letters, seal paper versions (sign at the seal of the envelope) and give to applicants to mail to our department's graduate teaching office.
Note 2: Applicants with degree certificates obtained abroad must be authenticated through the China Service Center for Scholarly Exchange under the Ministry of Education and must submit authentication reports.
II. Material Review and Comprehensive Assessment
The graduate enrollment working group of this department organizes material review groups to examine all applicants' materials, determines the comprehensive assessment candidate list based on comprehensive evaluation results, and notifies applicants to participate in comprehensive assessment.
Material review process:
Under the leadership of the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences graduate enrollment working group, establish a material review group. Each application material is reviewed individually by at least 3 experts, comprehensively evaluated, scored on a 100-point scale, and averaged. If there are groups, scores between groups will be standardized. According to final scores from high to low, candidates participate in comprehensive assessment at a 1:3 ratio according to enrollment plan.
Comprehensive assessment format and components:
Comprehensive assessment consists of comprehensive written examination and comprehensive interview. Undergraduate students recommended for exemption from entrance examination to pursue doctoral degrees, master-doctoral combined program students, and open enrollment doctoral students all need to participate in comprehensive written examination and comprehensive interview during the comprehensive assessment stage. Specific time, location, and assessment methods for comprehensive assessment will be notified separately.
Written examination: "Psychology Professional Comprehensive." Written examination time is 2 hours, full score 100 points. Examines professional basic knowledge and English proficiency, mainly including applicants' professional basic theory, research methods and research ability, foreign language proficiency, etc. For applicants with equivalent academic credentials, two main courses for master's degree in this major will be added.
Interview: 20 minutes for undergraduate students recommended for exemption from entrance examination to pursue doctoral degrees, 30 minutes for our university's master-doctoral combined program students and open enrollment doctoral students, full score 100 points. Interview focuses on examining applicants' basic qualities for pursuing doctoral degrees in this discipline, professional competence, innovation ability, academic ability, academic interests, etc.
III. Recommended Admission
The graduate enrollment leadership group of the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences adheres to the principles of comprehensive measurement, merit-based admission, and preferring shortage to mediocrity, using applicants' comprehensive assessment scores as the main basis, comprehensively considering specific enrollment situations and training conditions, and determining recommendation lists based on current year enrollment quotas for approval by the university graduate enrollment leadership group.
