I. Project Introduction
To adapt to the development of the new era of artificial intelligence and respond to the national need to strengthen the construction of a technological powerhouse, Tsinghua University's Department of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences (abbreviated as Psychology Department) has launched the Cognitive Intelligence Applied Psychology Professional Master's Program. This program closely combines psychology with artificial intelligence, enabling students to both obtain technologies for iteratively upgrading artificial intelligence from psychological research and apply artificial intelligence technology to psychology applications, becoming the urgently needed "psychology + artificial intelligence" interdisciplinary talents of our time.
The Cognitive Intelligence Applied Psychology Professional Master's Program targets practitioners in artificial intelligence or psychology fields such as internet, computer science, clinical counseling, and intelligent manufacturing who hope to deeply integrate psychology and artificial intelligence knowledge and have a certain technical foundation.
The program combines psychology with interdisciplinary fields such as computer science, industrial engineering, and design, committed to cultivating high-level, application-oriented specialized talents who possess the ability to apply theories and technologies of psychology and artificial intelligence to solve practical problems and adapt to specific professional fields such as society, economy, and culture.
This program is specifically organized for enrollment and coordinated for cultivation by Tsinghua University's Department of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences. The program possesses strong interdisciplinary faculty strength. In addition to full-time teachers from the Psychology Department, teachers from multiple disciplines including Tsinghua University's Department of Computer Science and Technology, Department of Industrial Engineering, Department of Automation, Department of Information Art at Academy of Arts and Design, Department of Sociology at School of Social Sciences, and Department of Political Science at School of Social Sciences also deeply participate in teaching and student cultivation. The program has strong "psychology + artificial intelligence" cultivation support conditions. Tsinghua University's advantageous accumulation in artificial intelligence, information science, biomedical science, and other areas provides important support for carrying out modern mental health services. The Psychology Department has years of close cooperation with multiple colleges and institutions including the Laboratory of Brain and Intelligence, Future Laboratory, Institute of Education, School of Medicine, and Department of Computer Science and Technology in student cultivation, teaching, and research, providing strong guarantees for program cultivation.
II. Enrollment Target
Support the leadership of the Communist Party of China, willing to serve socialist modernization construction, with good moral character and law-abiding behavior.
Candidates' academic credentials must meet the following conditions:
Personnel applying for the national master's degree graduate enrollment examination must have academic levels that meet one of the following conditions: (1) Fresh undergraduate graduates with nationally recognized academic credentials (including fresh undergraduate graduates from regular universities, adult universities, adult higher education organized by regular universities, etc.) and undergraduate students who can graduate from self-study examinations and online education at the designated time. Before the registration date for new graduate students at our university in 2025, they must obtain nationally recognized undergraduate graduation certificates or "Foreign Academic Degree Authentication Certificate" issued by the China Service Center for Scholarly Exchange under the Ministry of Education, otherwise admission qualifications will be invalid.
(2) Personnel with nationally recognized university undergraduate graduation academic credentials.
(3) Personnel who have obtained nationally recognized vocational college (junior college) graduation academic credentials for 2 years or more (from graduation to before the registration date for new graduate students at our university in 2025, same below) or undergraduate completion students with nationally recognized academic credentials, but must simultaneously meet the following conditions: a. Have previously published professional papers or achieved other innovative results; b. Have audited all main courses of the applied major's undergraduate program; c. Personal English proficiency certification. Apply as equivalent academic credentials to undergraduate graduation.
(4) Personnel who have already obtained master's or doctoral graduate academic credentials or degrees.
Graduate students currently enrolled must obtain consent from their cultivation units before registration.
Physical health conditions meet the physical examination requirements stipulated by the state and our university.
III. Curriculum
The curriculum of Tsinghua's Cognitive Intelligence Applied Psychology Professional Master's is set up in modular format, closely combining industry practice, striving to find the optimal combination of psychology and technology.
The cultivation content of this program involves psychology, cognitive neuroscience, human-computer interaction technology, robot interaction design, big data, user experience, and other content.

Re-examination Content: Comprehensive written examination and interview, both organized separately by our university. Re-examination time and location will be arranged separately.
(1) 101 Ideological and Political Theory and 204 English II are uniformly set by the Ministry of Education
(2) 347 Psychology Professional Comprehensive is independently set by our university, examination content includes psychology foundation, mathematical foundation, artificial intelligence and machine learning foundation, etc., but is not limited to the above content.
(3) Re-examination content: Focus on examining the ability to integrate and apply psychology and artificial intelligence knowledge.
V. Cultivation Method
Our university's Cognitive Intelligence Applied Psychology Professional Master's adopts part-time study method, generally with weekend classes or concentrated classes in stages, with a study period generally of 2-3 years. The program tuition fee is RMB 198,000. This program only enrolls targeted students from original units (on-the-job cultivation), with application category as targeted employment. Master's degree graduates admitted for targeted employment whose personnel files do not transfer to our university will not have their household registration transferred to the university, will not receive scholarships, will not be provided accommodation, will not receive public medical care, and the university will not be responsible for their employment assignment. After graduation, they should return to their original work units or seek employment independently; if originally on-the-job personnel cannot return to their original work units during study due to their original units being dissolved, merged, or other reasons, students should seek employment independently.
VI. Degree Conferment
According to Tsinghua University's relevant regulations on student status management and degree conferment, those who complete the content stipulated in the cultivation plan, pass the degree thesis defense, and are approved by Tsinghua University's Degree Evaluation Committee will be awarded Tsinghua University Master of Applied Psychology graduation certificate and degree certificate.
