To encourage teachers to actively engage in teaching work, improve teaching standards and talent cultivation quality, and create a good atmosphere of teaching and educating people throughout the university, Tsinghua University recently conducted the selection of three awards: Annual Teaching Excellence Award, Curriculum Ideological and Political Demonstration Course, and Curriculum Ideological and Political Demonstration Teacher.
Following the university's public announcement, our department teacher Jing Qian received two university-level honors: "Tsinghua University 2024 Annual Teaching Excellence Award" and "Tsinghua University 2025 Curriculum Ideological and Political Demonstration Teacher," and her course "College Students' Mental Health" received "Tsinghua University 2025 Curriculum Ideological and Political Demonstration Course." This award marks the second time she has received these three honors.
Jing Qian persists on the teaching frontline, long undertaking teaching tasks for multiple psychology major courses. In the classroom, she always imparts knowledge in vivid, interesting, and accessible ways. Her courses are deeply welcomed by students and have received honors such as "National First-Class Undergraduate Course" and "Tsinghua University Quality Course."
The award-winning "College Students' Mental Health" course aims to help students improve their psychological quality and health level. The main content includes: self-awareness, emotion management, resilience enhancement, interpersonal communication, stress coping and management, creative intelligence and creativity cultivation, self-adjustment, and life education. Through these themes, the course aims to effectively help students develop potential in learning, build confidence, maintain physical and mental health, clarify life development direction, cherish life and appreciate life, and become healthy, self-reliant people with a sense of mission.
It is reported that Tsinghua University began selecting the "Tsinghua University Annual Teaching Excellence Award" from 2016, and began selecting "Tsinghua University Curriculum Ideological and Political Demonstration Course" and "Tsinghua University Curriculum Ideological and Political Demonstration Teacher" from 2021.
The Annual Teaching Excellence Award is selected once a year, with selection targets being in-service teachers undertaking undergraduate and graduate teaching tasks. Selection conditions include meeting requirements such as being rated as a "good teacher" in graduate surveys, ranking in the top 5% in student teaching evaluations, or having outstanding contributions in teaching innovation.
The annual Curriculum Ideological and Political Demonstration Course and Demonstration Teacher are selected once a year. Through department and college applications, expert review, and deliberation by the Academic Affairs Office and Graduate School, this year the university selected a total of 33 Curriculum Ideological and Political Demonstration Courses and 37 Demonstration Teachers.
